Wow! Four years flew by and Facebook has been rocked with scandal with the Russian’s buying advertising in key battleground states during the 2016 presidential election. With heat given by congress, Facebook needed to show changes and changes they made.
Facebook’s purpose was to bring people together to exchange ideas and now in 2018 they want to change that to making more meaningful conversations. To do that Facebook feels it needs to change who, what businesses/ groups and news sources you see in your timeline. Never-mind that only 3-6% of business’s that are liked by a user is seen in your news feed with the new changes that is closer to 0%. Which now to see any business’s content requires them to pay-to-play.
The good news in all of this is that people still spend more and more time on social media and Facebook is still the best adverting buy out there. Don’t abandon Facebook it is still a great way to get your message out and show your followers just who you are. Facebook is still a great customer service platform and wonderful community builder. The rules of engagement may have changed but, the benefits are still there.
